Lol no. Girls can be mean, but guys can be just as shallow or cliquey. And they gossip too, they just don't call it that.

I hate that stereotype. I got so much more shit about my clothes and general appearance from guys in middle and high school than girls.

I actually DO feel this way towards the guys I know vs the girls I know, but I'm pretty sure that it's just a coincidence of my own circumstance about the personalities of most of the girls I just so happened to be in close contact with vs the personalities of the guys I just so happened to be in close contact with (and mean people of either gender tend to fall into a group of mean people around them, and nice people of either gender tend to fall into a group nice people around them, and the genders tend to stick together).

I'm pretty damn sure that it wasn't a direct result of gender, if it even had anything to do with gender at all.

I felt that way for a long time, and I just hadn't met the right group of women yet. I still haven't met the group of men that most women seem to know, though, and thank god for that.

UGH YES. A girl I know (not a friend, obviously, because she refuses to have female friends *eyeroll*) started this shit recently and it just really, really bugs me. It kind of seems almost like internalized misogyny in a way but I don't know if that's going off too far into SJW land or what.

I'm a guy who prefers hanging out with girls. Not exclusively, that's just how my social time trends on average. How do I fit into this model?
