What are the summers like and how long do they last? I've always heard that you have amazing summers, but I'm curious about temps and time frames.

Very temperate and dry as fuck (not as bad as winter, but if you're coming up from the lower 48 prepare to need chapstick and maybe even lose your voice!). It's actually pretty rainy where I am, but on sunny days, the weather is perfect. The grass is a little brown and patchy, not quite as a lush as other places,

The summer usually starts in June and ends in August. Not anything special. What's special is that at the peak, down in Anchorage and the Valley, the sun rises at around 4am and sets at 1am, and even then, it stays a sort of twilight out. It's always bright day out. It's actually a lot of fun, because most people have blackout curtains for bedtime, and you can feel like your whole day is ahead of you when you're out of work!

Unfortunately, the inverse is also true, and the winters have long nights. It's easy to get very depressed.

In the more northern areas, the sun does not set or rise at all depending on the season.

Yeah, I can barely handle Maine winter hours I don't think I could do the long nights in the Alaskan winter. But I'd love to visit during your sunny summer days!
