I'd write fanfiction of my own stuff, under a different name. like, porny stuff that I was afraid to put into the actual story. I'd create several aliases to try to start crazy ship wars, and write essays about the hidden, complex meaning in each of my book's scenes.

...yeah, when I get published (ahem) the fandom will be alive and awesome. of course, it'll only be me and my aliases but...

It's probably a good thing that I'm too lazy to try for my childhood dream of being a published author because I feel like ultimately I would spend way too much time on coming up with possibilities for ship wars that I could resolve in the most trolly manner.

loolllll. you really think you'll have any time making up fanfiction and writing essays without at least getting publicity from? sry anon, but you sound so ego driven (not meant as insult- I think most authors are), I don't think you could keep it a secret even for one moment, even if you get that far.

anyway if you're putting so much importance on your fandom and your fans, you'll be probably too freaked out about keeping the quality of the original up
