I had never seen an ep and never felt a desire to, but last night I happened across the pilot and I loved it. Now I want to watch everything, damnit. Has this happened to anyone else recently for any show/movie/game/whatever?

This happens to me with everything ever. I always get into things late and then binge-watch. Most recently it was Scandal, but this was how I got into Buffy and Angel, Doctor Who, Babylon 5, Once Upon a Time (post-season 1), and Supernatural. The list of shows I started watching from the beginning is probably actually shorter.

Ah, see I usually (but not always) start watching from day one if I'm interested in something. It's rare for me to have to watch an entire series like that.

Another one I have no interest in. But who knows? Maybe I'll some across an ep one day and decide to watch it.

Same thing with me and Leverage, actually. I hadn't watched it while it was airing, but someone on my flist was often raving about it, so when I saw the first season available at the library, I figured I'd give it a try.

Am currently (literally, right now) watching the third disc of the final season.

I think I'll see if my library has it. If not, my roommate has Netflix.

My library gets a lot of good series. And, since I can't afford Netflix, well.

Not recently, but that's kind of what happened with Teen Wolf? I seriously avoided everything Teen Wolf (I just didn't care), then eventually caved and watched an episode out of curiosity (damn you, adorable Teen Wolf cast!). The rest is history.

Half the shows I watch (or have watched) I got into right from the beginning, the rest I picked up shortly after. Let's see: SGA, Merlin, The Walking Dead, Person of Interest, Being Human, Hawaii 5-0 and SPN are all shows I picked up around season two. (Most of those happened because I was flipping through channels and landed on them, and decided, "Hey, this is pretty good.")

I started watching Merlin after coming across it one day but I only watched maybe 2 and 1/2 seasons.

I'm very glad you gave TW a chance :D

Merlin had its rough patches. ...And if you asked some people they would say all of Merlin was a rough patch, but I guess I just liked the cast enough to keep watching regardless.

Me too! What would I even have to talk about if not for Teen Wolf? My world is TW now, lol.

That happened to me with The Walking Dead. I hate grimdark apocalyptic scenarios and only started watching because my friend was into it. Blazed through three seasons in less than a week. I couldn't stop myself, I had to see how much worse everything would get (and it always, always gets worse).

lol I tried to watch Walking Dead when it premiered. I watched the first few eps but it wasn't doing anything for me. Two of my roommates watch it so I'll catch a random ep with one of them, but that's it.

This happened to me with Leverage a couple of weeks ago and now I want to watch it all, I've got it on hold atm though until I show my bf the pilot 'cause I think he'll enjoy watching it with me.

And sort of with Teen Wolf currently, I kept seeing Tyler Hoechlin's stupid face pop up and the other day I went 'FINE I'LL WATCH ONE EPISODE YOU FUCKER' and now I am in the process of catching up to season 3.

Glad you're watching Teen Wolf! Tyler Hoechlin is awfully pretty. While I watched TW from day one, he's definitely an incentive to keep watching :)

I love Leverage, although I think I'd love it more if there was less Nathan and Sophie and more Hardison, Parker, and Elliott. I'm still somewhere around season 2.

Your opinion is very popular in fandom and I respect it, but I am glad you didn't get what you want because Nate and Sophie are, in my opinion, far and away the most fun part of the show. I wanted much less Eliot, especially as the show went on and the Eliot fanservice just started getting embarrassing.

There is this Korean drama series called "Let's eat" and what I've seen of it so far really amuses me but at the same time I hate watching people eat and hearing them chew and slurp and all so I'm really torn if I should keep watching it halp.

so... so let me get this straight... this is basically a show about people eating things? that's it?

Last I saw there were all the eps on YouTube (I guess the owners aren't copyright-happy?) so like as not you can watch most of it there.

The K anime. I ended up watching every episode over a day and a half. I really, really liked it.

It happens to me occasionally. Generally with recs from friends. Just before the season finale of Hannibal last year, a friend convinced me to watch, and I marathoned the entire first season in days. I also marathoned Better Off Ted because I'd caught that one late. I'm trying to think of others, as I know it has happened to me a few times. (Although generally I catch the shows that might interest me from the start.)

30 Rock. Or at least I was until LoveFilm turned into Amazon streaming and decided to have multiple technical issues which cut me off halfway through season 3. I need my Kenneth fix, damnit!
