I've only really been in one fandom, but my experience of fan-made porn hasn't been a lot of bestiality rape fantasies. In fact, a lot of it's been really vanilla--and more to the point, even the queer romances have been treated as normal and natural.

it is literally known for these things, i'm not even in it and i know all about cupcakes and scootaloo's love for pain and all that shit, it is literally that prevalent a presence on the internet, and kids really really really don't need to be exposed to it

Ever heard of Chibi-Usa's Seventh Birthday? How about Agony in Pink, or Celebrian? No sufficiently large fandom is completely free of bizarre kink. It's just that for whatever reason, people decided to protest more about the rare bit of MLP torture porn than about Power Rangers torture porn or Sailor Moon torture porn. (I've heard it said that the complaints are because notall the porn is tagged as mature, but even with mature filters off, the really nasty stuff just isn't all that common.)

...if it's MLP you're already writing porn about PONIES. Not humans, and not even robots, animals that are based on real, living, breathing, furry, non-sapient animals irl. I'm not saying it's horrible to write it, but it's inherently a couple steps away from what a kid should be reading (if they should indeed be reading ficcy porn) based on that alone.

I guess I don't see the difference between talking pastel ponies and, say, merfolk or nagas. I mean, they have animal features, but they're clearly not animals. It might actually be LESS gross, since nagas are sexualized specifically for their nonhuman qualities, whereas MLP characters are generally sexualized because writers find their personalities cool.

I can't comment specifically on the effects of kids reading MLP porn versus the effects of kids reading human porn, but I don't see an obvious reason why it would do any harm. (Unless you're insinuating that it would lead to bestiality, which doesn't make any sense to me--these fics don't generally exoticize and promote any traits related to horses, and they read pretty similarly to fics about humans.)

I don't think it's a lot different from porn with other non-human animals. I really do not think it's a good place for kids to start. *shrug* Especially considering how batshit some of this fandom is about their porn. x.x

Well, I've actually been in a few small fandoms myself where there wasn't anything kinky written/the kinkiest stuff was either basic bdsm (think handcuffs and cock rings) or just an overly described sex scene(s). It really depends on who's willing to write what and oddly, it seems no one really wants the label of 'the pervy one'/'the pervert' in the smaller fandoms even in situations where they'd be completely anonymous.

Wow, I see so much kink and BDSM without hardly looking for it that it's scary. I have no problem with kink or BDSM between consenting adults, but I think that kids shouldn't have it as their first exposures to sexuality. Bestiality not so much in my fandoms, but I've seen... a lot of creepy stuff, and I don't even read much porn.
I will respectfully say that I think your fandom experience is relatively unique.

I remember my first introduction to fandom smut was some pretty creepy/kinky stuff. I wasn't even looking for it, I just wanted some pictures of my pairing together so I innocently clicked on it. So yeah, I'm a little leery of younger people seeing that and having that being their introduction to sexuality.

What fandom are you in? I stumbled across a MASSIVE amount of hardcore BDSM when I briefly looked at the Harry Potter fandom. (I'm not really sure what the factors are that determine how kinky each fandom gets.)

I'm in SNK right now and it's harder to find vanilla for the big ships than kink. FMA was less drastic but I still remember a lot of kink and slavefic and this weird semi-bestiality 'verse that all the bnfs were into.
Ans I can tell you for sure that there are a lot of younger teens in the SNK fandom... I just don't think fandom is the best type of sexuality for kids to be exposed to at a young age.
