It kind of is now, but it wasn't always. Personally, in this case, I see the way their relationship has come to be depicted as intentionally living up to queerbaiting as a trope and laughing with the audience over it rather than baiting in an effort to be dicks to the audience.

I thought there was an episode where Marge said something along the lines of them needing just stop dancing around each other without any outside intervention or something though

Only in verse, if you can even do that. They're not dropping hiints about them BEING TOTALLY GAY and then going LOL, NO every time. They're going LOL, MAYBE. Which is different. They're not insulting anyone for thinking that they're gay. If your main characters agree with you seriously, you're not being insulted.
