Re: What non-canon slash pairings do you think are almost-canon?
(Anonymous) 2014-03-10 02:12 am (UTC)(link)I suppose I can see where they're coming from, but to me, I just read them as having a very close friendship. I guess my slash goggles are broken or something. As for the writers pandering, I'm not sure. They could have.

(Anonymous) 2014-03-10 02:53 am (UTC)(link)The writers were definitely aware of their female fanbase. Gundam Wing had a ton of official art that was very... close between pretty much all the pilots. I used to have a folder with all the art, unfortunately not now. But whether or not the writers intend for Quatre and Trowa to actually be gay, there's no way they were unaware of their fanbase.
Re: What non-canon slash pairings do you think are almost-canon?
(Anonymous) 2014-03-10 03:04 am (UTC)(link)Oh god, I will concede that Frozen Teardrop is definitely pandering to the fujoshi fanbase. I like to pretend it doesn't exist tbh. As nd yeah, they were definitely aware of their fambase, but during theoriginsl show's run it was mostly limited to magazine spreads.
