Aww, I fucking loved Get Backers. And this two totally did it. My inner 15 y/o will not be convinced otherwise!

And there's also that thing with the... one that uses strings as his weapon? Him and his bodyguard has a thing, right? Was it canon? Or just winkwinknudgenudge subtext?

Juubei/Kazuki. Yeah. I think the artist shipped them or something (something about he'd write a doujinshi about them or something- I think Kazuki ended up dating a lady in the manga -bogus- but whatever).

No, he didn't date anyone in the end and he and Juubei were still very close (there's Toshiki too, but his relationship with him is slightly different).

What was implied in the end [Spoilers]

...

was that Kazuki was a woman in the real world and that (s)he a Juubei were close in that world too.
Take that as you want.

I'm confused because Kazuki was born outside the Limitless Fortress and he left the Limitless Fortress, so isn't the Kazuki we saw in the series real (unlike MakubeX)? What's the distinction between the real world and whatnot?

[Mor Spoilers of the Ending]
The thing is, the world we know (not only the Limitless Fortress) was confirmed to be a virtual copy based on the real world.
Most characters are copies of real people and their life used to be the same, but it diverged from the real world's history at some point (and it also become a real world in it's own way).

It's pretty much stated that those Kazuki and Juubei from the real world are pretty much "the same", even though their life was not really the same (and in Kazuki's case, their sex was different in each world).

Thanks for answering. That's pretty weird. Not the weirdest thing I've ever seen or read but it's definitely unusual. Maybe I'll go back for it some time. I always loved Ban and Ginji. I just wasn't into the rampant fanservice about the ladies. But that sounds interesting.
