kryptoncat: FFIX's Garnet is looking at you. Her hair is short, she's wearing yellow, & she has a peculiar blue stone on a necklace. (DAGGER IS AWESOME AND SO CAN YOU)

I don't want Square to stop making important female characters/ love interests.

I want them to start making this character type better.

I was not a big Final Fantasy XIII fan, but they did nail it with awesome female characters. Well, Lightning and Fang kind of ran the game, imo, in their badassness. And no male love interests. I don't remember there being a romance besides Snow/Serah. Wasn't a big Serah fan, or a big Snow fan, but considering it was a romance that didn't even involve the (female) protagonist... very pro-female game. Never played the sequels though so I don't know about that.

and I don't think most of the female love interests from Final Fantasy are that bad. Aeris and Tifa from Final Fantasy VII were awesome, though Tifa's total reliance on Cloud did annoy me a little, she was otherwise badass. Didn't care for Rinoa, but that might be a personal thing. I liked Garnet, though I don't remember much of her personality, the hair-cutting scene really made me smile. Yuna... wasn't a big fan. Then the older games, I don't even remember cut and paste love stories. VI had I think Celes and Locke... I think? Was that even canon? Loved Celes, she was the best.

Serah was pretty awesome in the sequel.
ext_18500: My non-fandom OC Oraania. She's crazy. (Default)

Rinoa felt like her whole attitude towards Squall was needle-pester-annoy. She isn't half as bad as fanfic would make her out to be, but I don't blame anyone for disliking her either.

Just please stop with the love interests.
