The problem is, the scene had a purpose in the plot. It set up a red-herring of Anna trying to find Kristoff after Hans left her, thus getting her out on the fjord when Hans is chasing Elsa across it.

But maybe the set-up could have been done better, in a less goofy "We-don't-give-a-shit-about-the-girl's-feelings-she's-gonna-marry-our-boy-or-else!" sort-of way.

The message/lyrics of the song were also relevant to Anna and Elsa's relationship.

...I actually like the song. It's just so catchy. The timing was terrible though, they could hardly have put it in a less appropriate place in the story. I think it would've been better-received if not for that.
