Reedus always says that he wants romance with Daryl to be earned and right now I feel like the media is rushing that more than the show itself. It's like they got ahold of the concept of shipping and are losing their minds over the dumbest shit. Two episodes and suddenly this extremely damaged man who's clearly grossly uncomfortable with intimacy of any kind is making eyes at someone he's seen as a child for 97% of the time they've known each other...? Bullshit.

Holding someone's hand at a graveyard and forming a relationship doesn't and shouldn't always mean sex, and so idk why every single article has to go on and on about it. Just... Let it play out without shoving it down our throats, good god.

...Also this episode played out like a tween's self-insert fic to me (which is fine in fic, have at it, fandom) but on screen and it just felt forced imo. For me personally this is a case of other people's reactions seriously messing with my ability to enjoy the show and I'm... Not pleased about it.

That said I do really enjoy Beth's development and I love the idea of them getting closer in a bro/sis way, because Daryl getting to be the kind of big brother Merle wasn't is something I desperately need in my life. And because I feel like it needs to be said, I'm also a platonic Caryl shipper. I am just not here for Daryl romance any time soon period.
