I'm just thankful I have a huge backlog of non-moe anime to catch up on. It'll keep me busy for years while the industry continues doing...whatever it is that it's doing. Though I guess I better be quick about it before companies start collapsing on top of their titles and shit like Tokyopop did.

Keep in mind I haven't seen any of these yet, but they all came highly recommended (some from this comm), I liked what I saw when I Googled, and all are pretty recent action/fantasy series: Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, Ghost Hunt, Sengoku Basara: Samurai Kings, Blassreiter, Broken Blade, Tiger and Bunny, Black Blood Brothers, Shiki, Basilisk, Gantz, Air Gear, Jyu-Oh-Sei: Planet of the Beast King, No. 6, Michiko to Hatchin, Soul Taker, Darker Than Black, Black Lagoon, Technolyze, Mushishi, Gilgamesh, Night Head Genesis, Gankutsuou, Le Chevalier D'Eon, La Storia della Arcana Famiglia, Koutetsu Sangokushi, Le Portrait de Petite Cosette, Sci-Fi Harry, Un-Go, Red Garden, Samurai 7, Genesis of Aquarion. The only non-action/fantasy ones that interested me are: Beck, Hataraki Man, Hanasakeru Seishounen, Summer Wars, Arakawa Under the Bridge, and Free!. But still, not a moe in sight.

And that's just what I remembered to write down. Like I said, got plenty to hold me, let them moe away.

I've seen Arakawa Under the Bridge and it's really great, so definitely check that one out when you get the chance. When you get past the silly premise, it really treats all the characters fairly and makes really thoughtful episodes.

I'd also recommend Ergo Proxy, Wolf's rain, serial experiments lain and Paranoia Agent if you haven't seen them yet.
