Re: HAIR THREAD
(Anonymous) 2014-03-14 12:53 am (UTC)(link)Eyebrows - very bushy, very thick, very dark. Generally, I don't bother with them because it's frankly far too much work plucking at something that's behind the frames of my glasses anyway. Though, if I do have an event where it seems necessary (because I'm wearing a lighter frame, or I need eye makeup or whatever), I will take the time to tweeze them into shape - they grow back FAST, though, so it's hardly ever worth it to me.
Overall, it's not too much effort - once in a blue moon I give the ends a trim, I don't color it, and no style I do takes more than a half hour. Personally, I think it's worth it - not so much the time, but the amount I spend on bobby pins and other fasteners and shampoo.
If I could change anything about it, I'd maybe like it to be slightly more versatile - it's so very straight that any styles involving curls or setting it never hold for very long, if at all. I would like to try creating the highest beehive ever, but haven't found an event or the time to do it, yet. Do think it suits my face, or I wouldn't wear it the way I do.
Don't cosplay as such but I do do a lot of theatre and there it's never been a problem. The hair people generally wrestle it into whatever they need it to be, and they've even managed to hide all of it and make things look like a man's duck-tail cut... Once had bangs for a while for a role (the horror!) but they grew out to the point of being hide-able fairly quickly. Have done false facial hair (when playing guys), never had to wear a wig, though I would if I needed to.
