This feels really petty, but someone I follow on Tumblr keeps posting stuff about the situation in Venezuela constantly, without tagging it. I know they don't live there so they're not directly affected, and it's starting to get irritating. Like, wow, you're 'signal boosting,' yeah, that's really helping the situation, go you, you totally told all the other college and high school kids on Tumblr about it, aren't you such an activist. Maybe do some actual activist work about it or quit it already.

This is why I refuse to reblog those things.

I feel for those countries, I really do, but if it doesn't affect me or my country, I don't give much of a flying rat's ass about it. Plus, I don't have the money to be donating.

Besides, I've ALWAYS been of the mind set of helping out my country first before we start helping anyone else. If we make our country a better, safer, more equal place, then we'll be in a better mindset and be financially stable to offer aid to others. But seeing as our government is a selfish piece of shit, that ain't happening anytime soon.
