Dear certain students at my school: Life isn't law school. Every discussion or debate doesn't necessitate legal-level proof or citing of cases to back up your point. When you demand those things from the other person and they ignore you, that doesn't mean you won the argument. Really.

This is a stupid rant about a stupid topic buttttttttt there is this post on Tumblr about "feminist Thor".

It is one of those people that pretends to be a character and answers questions. And one was some troll question about "if women on Asgard know their place?" And the person (as Thor) is like, "What place? Women on Asgard can be warriors or politicians or scientists or blah blah."

And while I do think Thor would be an equal opportunity person, I doubt Asgard is. Even if you are just basing it on the MCU (which I would think is the most progressive version in order to appeal to a bigger audience), Asgard is not an equal place.

Sif mentions how she had to fight to become a warrior. So obviously women being warriors is not true (unless you happen to have the Prince of fucking Asgard backing supporting you). In Thor and Thor 2 you never see any female guards or females training.

They don't seem to be able to hold political power either. Because when Odin went into Odinsleep the line of succession skipped Frigga and went straight to the first available son.

It looks like they can be doctors but in Asgard that seems to be on the same level as magic (which seems to be something men are not supposed to dabble in).

THAT COMIC IS SHITTY, OVERHYPED TRASH ABOUT AWFUL ONE-DIMENSIONAL ASSHOLES BEING BORING AND AWFUL. THE ONLY INTERESTING CHARACTERS WERE GERT (WHO FUCKING DIED) AND XAVIN (WHO WAS WRITTEN TERRIBLY BY JOSS WHEDON, AND THEN HAD TO ABANDON HIS/HER FRIENDS ON EARTH TO GO DO IMPORTANT SHIT IN SPACE BECAUSE DRAMAAAAAAA).

FURTHERMORE, THE ART IS FUCKING TERRIBLE 9 TIMES OUT OF 10. NORMALLY I WOULDN'T CARE ABOUT THE ARTIST CHANGING EVERY THREE ISSUES SINCE THAT'S PAR FOR THE COURSE IN SUPERHERO COMICS, BUT IT STICKS OUT WHEN THE ART IS SO. GODDAMN. SHITTY.

ALSO, THE ENDING WAS SHIT. IT WASN'T EVEN A REAL ENDING. IT WAS THE MOST HALF-ASSED, UNCOMPELLING CLIFFHANGER EVER.

Coworker: please just do your job. When we're in meetings, please pay attention, even if you're not currently the one talking, so that we don't have to repeat ourselves when it turns out to be relevant to you. Please actually focus on what people are saying so that you do things right the first time. Also for the love of god can you not eat so loudly all the time.

(Said coworker is actually fine and really not that bad, they can just be deeply frustrating to work with sometimes.)

So I really aced a job interview last week and I was super-excited because the place said they'd send me some test emails to answer. It's been a week and nothin' has turned up in my inbox!

I've called about it but they only told me they were too busy and lost track of time, and all I can think is "you know what would take some of that strain off? Forget the test-email and just hire me right away!" Because I've done the same work before and was excellent at it @_@

I think I have a really good chance of getting it, but only if they do their part! It's really getting to me, because this is basically the only chance and only hope I've had in pretty much forever, so I'm clinging to it like grim death.

Anybody wanna commission a scarf from me? @_@

I hate living in America. I hate the people tell me it's this land of awesome and freedom and wonderful opportunity. If I had any money at all I would move the hell out, but it is so expensive to move let alone move to a different country. And I hate that I can't vent my frustrations without someone either coming in and pulling "shut up or leave" or telling me how privileged and lucky I am to live in this shitty country.

Everyone in fandom seems to be into Supernatural, Teen Wolf, Kill la Kill, Sherlock, Game of Thrones, or Doctor Who. All of those shows actually actively annoy me and I can't seem to get away from them. I'm starting to resent those fandoms for being virtually inescapable.

TMI: BODY HAIR.

On a whim I decided to take the time and, for once, remove the crazy hair which insists on growing around my nipples - never bothered to before (who the fuck would see it?) thought it wouldn't be much different from when I pluck my eyebrows.

And then I got a fucking ingrown hair.

On my fucking nipple.

Fuck.

My.

Life.

Swollen, angry, nasty thing. So I carefully removed the hair, drained and sterilized it, but it STILL looks like my nipple has a second nipple and it's sore as fuck and I hate everything. Especially mandatory formal-wear tomorrow (which means mandatory bra, which means mandatory fucking chafing).

/grumpy hirsute anon is grumpy.

I recently met back up with some old fandom friends, and tried to do something fandomy with them; like last time, they completely ignored my own suggestion, and then when I went along with their plan, everyone pretty much forgot about it and ignored me when I brought it up again. I don't really care about the fact that everyone lost interest - what I care about is, why was I dumb enough to fall into the same trap when it's the same people, just a few years older?

This feels really petty, but someone I follow on Tumblr keeps posting stuff about the situation in Venezuela constantly, without tagging it. I know they don't live there so they're not directly affected, and it's starting to get irritating. Like, wow, you're 'signal boosting,' yeah, that's really helping the situation, go you, you totally told all the other college and high school kids on Tumblr about it, aren't you such an activist. Maybe do some actual activist work about it or quit it already.

Dear classmate who tries to dominate every discussion in seminar and yank it around to your pet subjects, whether or not they're germane: today you missed class, and we had a great seminar without you. Everyone remarked on how refreshing it was to have an actual discussion where we all contributed, instead of you laying down the law to everyone and listening to no one.

One of the people I follow on tumblr is on a completely random (they never showed interest in this Pokemon before) yet passionate Jigglypuff/Wigglytuff reblogging kick right now and it is weirding me out. I don't not want to see that damn thing all over my dash but of course they don't tag their obsession, nobody ever does.
