Am I the only one reading this as "I've had a hard life so most other people who talk about their lives are brats and have no right to complain"?

Geez I thought I got enough of this attitude on Tumblr.

Nope, not the only one.

Exactly. I bloody hate it. OP, your suffering does not make a damn of difference to those other people who suffer. The fact that you had it hard does not magically make anyone's life all right.

Seriously, it's not a contest.

I agree.

I'm sorry for what happened to you in your life, OP, really, I am. But the thing is, everyone's life experiences are different. Some things and situations are easier to deal with to some, but may be immensely difficult to others. Besides, you don't know what else might be going on in their lives aside from what they're talking about.

except that's exactly what the op is arguing against? they literally said 'get some perspective'

they're still saying that they want to yell at people for talking about their lives.

and it still reeks of "don't complain unless it's really bad"

DA

...and specifically saying they DON'T yell at people, by stepping away from it. (To smoke, granted, but I've never heard of smoking to help being so poor you can't eat. Yikes.)

My life didn't suck QUITE that bad, and no it's not a contest, but some of the things the Tumblrats complain about (esp. the SJWs) are reeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaally first world problems liek woah.

Yeah, no kidding. I mean, I know I've had a blessed life in many ways. I've always had food, I've always had a roof over my head and clothes on my back, and for the most part I've always had people I can rely on. In those ways, I know I'm luckier than many others. I acknowledge that.

I still have a right to complain about the bad shit that happens to me, whether it's super-serious like the fact that my dad has brain cancer, or less important stuff like my uncle being a condescending ass over Thanksgiving dinner.
