Don't know? It was someone who found my AIM details from somewhere and contacted me. They said they were female but who knows. They offered a plane ticket to a Con in Texas, hotel room, and I didn't get as far as finding out how much they were willing to pay for the sex.

Wasn't that offended. More bemused and slightly flattered that someone liked the cosplay that much. Would have been more offended if it was in person at a Con or something.

Agreed that it's creepy. You may want to watch how public your IM details are. It wasn't possibly someone on LJ or tumblr or anything, was it?

It was almost certainly someone who found my old lj since I had a lot of my IM contacts on there.

It's a thing of the past and I don't think I have any stalkers anymore, but that's a thing that tends to happen to cosplayers and part of the reason I quit the fandom scene for so many years.

...it wasn't the creepiest thing that has happened to people I have known who cosplayed. That's kind of the sad part.

This was just a bit silly and something to laugh at in comparison with things other people I know have endured.

Seconding Mekkio. Also, who/what were you cosplaying? Who did they want you to bang, and what were they wearing?

Rather not say what the cosplay was just in case there's any stalker action.

They didn't want to wear anything... and they suggested I either do the horizontal mambo with my cosplay partner at the time or them.

I don't know if they cosplayed themselves or were just a fan, but there's a pretty good chance they found my stuff from lj.

It wasn't pushy or aggressive, so I just found it kind of flattering and funny. The person never contacted me again after I told them I wasn't interested and thanked them for the interest in our cosplay group, so really it wasn't as bad as it could have been, I think.

No, it wasn't. It was online.

But if you don't think sexual harassment happens at Cons you have a whole other thing coming. Cosplayers get it the worst.
