All the 'no homo' stuff was between the guys. John Smith and Kocoum were rolling around in the dirt, but no homo! 'cause Kocoum is dead. And let's not even talk about Thomas and his one sided crush on Smith....

MTE when I recently re-watched. but while John Smith is kinda obviously straight, Tom doesn't go "no homo lol", or does he?

It's been a few years since I watched it, but I remember thinking that one-sided crush was pretty obvious and thinking Disney just decided not to have any of the other characters touch on it. It's less the character going 'no homo' and more Disney covering its ass. 'Its a totes straight relationship! They're bros!'

The character had a resigned sadness at the end of the movie. There was no lol there.
