I thought that this was the main reason for genderbend. Was I mistaken?

I like it for the personal conflict a sudden, unwanted sex change adds to the character or relationship*. Unless you meant "always a girl" universes, which don't interest me at all.

*Although I have yet to see two gay men turned into women where their entire sex life then falls apart.

I meant both, really. I find a lot of times when people talk about it they're talking about everything but the relationship.

Never seen that either, but I've read a couple of fics in which a straight guy and a sexswapped queer guy begin a relationship that falls apart when the sexswapped character gets his original body back.
