Oh man, I've totally had that itch before, and it completely sucks. I have no idea what causes it (it's not a yeast infection, and there's no redness or anything that doesn't come from me rubbing the shit out of it trying to itch it), but I find what helps me is to draw a not-too-hot bath and sit in there and just sort of...spread, to put not too fine a point on it. It might sting a bit if you've really rubbed yourself raw, but it should fade.
