Hmm. I'm not sure how much his parentage is relevant to the Rhaegar/Lyanna ship.

It is a fact that Lyanna ran off with and/or was abducted by Rhaegar. This is true whether or not she had a child fathered by Rhaegar.

We do not know whether it was an elopement or an abduction. This question would not be answered by the existence or nonexistence of a child.

I suppose it is relevant in that if Jon is ~*prophesied*~ and ~*the only one who can save the world*~, you could argue that what Rhaegar (and possibly Lyanna) did was ~*necessary*~ and ~*justified*~. Do Rhaegar/Lyanna shippers usually do that?
