A bra that fits and the straps stay in place, it doesn't chafe even after wearing it for several hours, is made out of quality material, looks good and doesn't have a huge amount of padding. It's my Holy Grail.

This so much. A bra where the straps stay up. A bra that supports enough but is either wireless or has a wire that does not poke me. And a bra whose clasps do not bend and become unusable within a month or two.

A bra where you can spontaneously jog to the shop without having to furtively rummage around to find the strap. That doesn't itch or leave red marks across your skin where it's dug in.

... I think I need to try and save up enough money to go shopping.

... what kind of bras have the people in this thread been buying? I have literally never had issues finding bras that do all of these things and I'm an unusual size (30D).

Try finding a good quality bra in cup size A that doesn't have huge amounts of padding. It doesn't exist.
Paddingless bras are of crappy quality.

30D ain't too bad. Quite a small amount of breast tissue there, relatively easy to support. Get into the bigger guns, though, your 32Gs and 36Fs and whatnot, and things start to get troublesome. Heavy boobs, man. What do?
