Ugghhhh, 16 Candles. Watched that for the first time when I was in my late teens (I think) and I just -did not- how or why people love it so much and look back on it so fondly. Again, it's been almost ten years since I've seen it, but I can still remember the awful racist portrayal of Molly Ringwald's international exchange student, and the incredibly icky awfulness of the boy she had a crush on trying to 'swap' her with Anthony Michael Hall's character when she was incapacitated (sorry if the details aren't quite right, again this is my fuzzy memory talking). Also the whole thing with AMH trying to steal her panties and in the end her giving him a pair as a reward or a consolation prize or something? Whaaaaaaatttttttttt.

For the record, I looooooooooove love love most other John Hughes movie. 16 Candles is awful though. :(
