They are a person privileged in real life, assuming an identity which for all practical purposes does not exist in real life, to enter the space where that identity is privileged.

Hmm. That's an interesting point. But I wonder how much is actually privileged, even in that space, since it is expected many times in these spaces that people with certain identities to behave a certain way and believe certain things. When they step out of that box, they are still denied. Therefore, I think it may be that these identities are fetishized, and the real privilege is the ideology someone has.

However, all that said, I still think that it's ultimately bad, someone pretending to be something they are not. It usually ends ends badly for everyone involved.
