That and, at least in the first season, not being sure how many episodes they were going to have. From what I've been told, their allotment got changed at least a couple of times and I can't imagine that didn't play a role in S1's terrible pacing.

Yeah, although I'd put that as bad judgement on their part - they were told 13 episodes, 1 season and they should have just written for 13 episodes and not assumed they'd have space for things.

Just, so much bad judgement. I'm tentatively hoping Season 3 will be better but that's more because I want to like Korra - I did at the start, I managed to stay relatively pleased until the last 2 episodes but season 2 crushed it and I'm sad I don't like /any/ of the characters anymore.

IDK if they've brought more writers into the mix for season 3, but I hope it's more coherent this time. I'll wait and see I guess, I'm certainly holding off on buying it until the entire thing is done and finished.

...I think it says a lot that the only character in LoK that I like at all is Tahno.
