It's a trend that I want to see fucking burn.

I'm probably petty, but tumblr speak (cute-ifying swear words, using kawaii, sempai, and shit ironically, tildes and asterisks everywhere, and whatever the hell they've done to capitialization and punctuation) grates my nerves like nothing else. I'd gladly take the dark days of XD, *glomps*, roflcopter over this shit.

+INFINITY AND BEYOND

I fucking hate that shit. It grates on my nerves so badly. I am automatically infuriated by anyone I see talking like that and I guess that's why I have no tumblr friends.

If it meant that nobody would ever have to see "do the frick frack" again, I would start all my IM conversations with *glomp* for the rest of my life.

See also: "(adorable/precious/tiny/baby) children" (select at least three) when dealing with characters who are teens in the original work, and appear to be in their twenties and are enthusiastically making out in the piece of fanart you have just reblogged. "Perfect" may be added for your OTP, regardless of whether or not the characters are in fact anything vaguely resembling perfect.

Ah, Tumblr.

Don't forget the passive-aggressive UMs, can we not?s, or friend reminders with a japanese emoticon!

(Anonymous) 2014-03-20 04:15 am (UTC)(link)
Where would the world be without passive-aggressive people? (Answer: in a much happier place.) And the UK-worship. Why can't we all think Canada is the best thing ever? They filmed Stargate there!

(Anonymous) 2014-03-20 09:13 am (UTC)(link)
There's UK worship? Please tell me not because of shitty pop culture stuff like Sherlock and that band of mini-men... Um one direction?

(Anonymous) 2014-03-20 03:53 pm (UTC)(link)
Depends on which groups you're in. In the fandom crowds, yeah, it's Sherlock/Doctor Who/One Direction/whatever. In the political/social justice crowds, it's that they're more liberal and therefore better. Reading a lot of the stuff from either side, one gets the impression that they don't really think of British people as people on some level, they're these shiny things on the other side of the Atlantic to be idolized.
kryptoncat: G1 cartoon Megatron is scowling at a blue phone-like device. Text: "Starscream! What is the meaning of A/S/L?" (IT MEANS ALLOW STARSCREAM LEADERSHIP! HA)

Have you told the young'ins to get off your lawn?

(Anonymous) 2014-03-20 05:05 am (UTC)(link)
No, because they're are actually around my age.

I say "kids these days" all the time. Sure, the kids might be my age, but they're still kids and it's still these days!
