I admit I was never part of AtLA or Korra fandoms, but I did hear a lot about how the creators often mocked the Zutara shippers.

Seems extremely vindictive to make the protagonist of Korra look bad just to prove a point, but then again I wouldn't be surprised.

I actually didn't mean to imply that was the intention (to make the Zutara ship look bad), just the consequence.
