Words said to cats do not count. They use their evil catty powers to turn people into jelly-like cooing imbeciles.

Just here to express my love for the movie since I finally saw it today. Sven and Olaf are both adorable.

Indeed they are.

'Winter's a good time to stay in and cuddle, but put me in summer, and I'll be a....HAPPY SNOWMAN!'

I just saw it today as well and wasn't impressed, but I loved Sven and Olaf too, they were my favorite part of the movie.

I don't think it's weird to talk to pets, especially mammals or other animals that listen to your voice. Animals (often) communicate vocally, too, and hearing your voice can relax them or help them get used to you, or just... help you communicate with them, even if it isn't the words itself.

Everyone talks to their pets, don't they? I do.

(Anonymous) 2014-03-20 11:28 pm (UTC)(link)
Kristoff talks for Sven, though. He basically has a one sided conversation with himself a few times in the movie, while pretending to be Sven.

There are a lot of great things about that movie. Kristoff and Sven are one of them.

I talk to my horses like this. Actually I talk to all my animals like this, I thought it was normal?

I talk to my cat like that!

...My cat's kind of a sarcastic dick, though. >_>

I think it's a fairly common thing that some pet owners do.

And, you really can learn to interpret a pet's body lnguage well enough to be pretty spot on abpout what they're trying to convey.

I like to play dumb though.
"MEW!"
"What's that?"
"MEW!" *runs to food dish*
"Aww, you want to be picked up and LOVED!"

And then the cat stares at me like I'm a moron and makes "Nooooo" faces while they get cuddled and kissed and petted, until I release them to run back to the food bowl to beg some more.

Does not everyone talk to cats?

(Anonymous) 2014-03-20 11:53 pm (UTC)(link)
I talk to my cat. In fact, I have a snarky relationship with my cat, and often tell her to 'stop yer whinging' when she's meowing at me for something (in jest, of course). My mum always protests when she hears me say that, because she thinks it is mean and hurts my cat's feelings. But I know that my cat understands that it's just a joke - and sarcastically snorts at my antics enough that I know we're even on that front. And then I give her a cuddle and do whatever she wants me to do at that time.

Do you mean you talk to your cat (seems normal?) or that you talk for your cat and hold conversations? (???)

OP

(Anonymous) 2014-03-21 12:31 am (UTC)(link)
Both, it doesn't help that my one cat is a sociopath and my other cat is a fluffy ditz. The conversations are quite entertaining but most of y friends tend to look at me funny.

I realised I have two different ways of talkingto my cat:
1. I make questions upon questions.
2. I answer to imaginary questions they made.

It's funny because I noticed it's always oneor the other, LOL. I think maybe I do the first when I'm completely focused on something else and I can't, like, even make up funny crap to say to my cats, while I do the second while I'm cooking.

Ah, poor brain. My cats to try to talk back a lot though, it's impossible to ignore them!

I always talk this way to my dogs.

(And sometimes, my guinea pig)

(Anonymous) 2014-03-21 06:51 pm (UTC)(link)
Dude, I work with animals and when I have to do one-on-one work with a dog, I keep up a steady stream of baby-talk chatter. It works wonders at keeping them calm.
