Idk, my current phone is old and it was a hand-me-down from my dad. It's slowly dying so I'm actually trying to choose a new one. I like my current brand so I'm probably choosing a sony phone with a nice enough camera and that it's not too expensive.

I'm a bit surprised you guys need to take plans into account. Here you buy the phone you want and it's completely independent of the phone company you're using.

We can do that, it's just at the full retail price. With plans, you...wouldn't pay the entire price for it, at most a third or even half of the FRP, but service a lot of the time is incredibly expensive for decent to good. I used to have people come up to me with completely shattered phones who would buy one outright at 600$.
