I feel the same way, OP. I have nothing against people with mental illness, but it gets incredibly tiring to deal with sometimes, especially when you're bombarded with it from all sides. (Also, this is going to make me sound like an asshole, but I suspect a good portion of these depressed or socially anxious people are merely self-diagnosed drama queens/kings. A lot of them just seem like whiny teenagers who are angry that people dare to expect them to do homework.)

As someone who has a few officially diagnosed conditions (and diagnosed in multiple countries to boot, just as an aside) I would like to say THANK YOU for bringing up all the self-diagnosers. I RARELY if ever bring up my conditions unless I am in my own journal, and frankly there arent many other moments when its appropriate to do so (this comment is one rare exception) and I am SO SICK of all the people who diagnose themselves because they were happy for a week then sad for a week OMG IT MUST BE BIPOLAR or they felt sad when someone passed away OMG DEPRESSION.

Because NO. N.O. I would give ANYTHING to be regular sad when some situation would normally create that emotion instead of having been dysphorically depressed for the last 15 years without a friggin break. ANYTHING.

And seeing people traipsing around the internet proudly wearing their self diagnoses, just makes me want to shake them and show them how desperately I wish I could have 50% as normal a mental health life as they do.

So thank goodness other people notice this, because it gives those of us who have legit been to the dr, given tests (for appropriate disorders) and diagnosed by said doctor(s) not only anger (from my experience) but also they are kind of making us look like dicks everywhere online.
