I used to know someone who genuinely had really fun, creative ideas. Their spelling, grammar, and sentence structure, though, left a lot to be desired.

Writing mechanics can be fixed with a good beta/editor. But I believe that if your ideas suck, then you're dead in the water.

Also keep in mind, people have different tastes in writing. I like a cleaner style when I'm reading. Some love a florid style that would make the Victorians proud.

There's an audience out there for everyone, so I wouldn't discount your works just yet. Find a trusted second opinion, if you can, before you decide everything you write is crap. ;)
