Yes! I am not alone!
I was really not impressed by this movie at all. When it came out I used to pretend I liked (or at least, I didn't let on that I didn't like it) it because I didn't need to give the other kids yet another thing to make fun of me for. But yeah, unimpressive movie, and the songs are as annoying as all get out.

EDIT: Wait, this is a sequel? Never mind, I never saw the sequels because I didn't like the original.

Pretty much everything you just said. It actively freaks me out a bit when people refer to The Lion King as this universally loved generational touchstone, because I flatly disliked it the first time I saw it, and nothing in the past couple decades has persuaded me to alter that opinion.

I was pretty okay with Lion King the first time I saw it, but when the VHS came out my mom was babysitting two toddlers, so Lion King was playing something like twice a day, every day, for a month or more. I don't like the movie that much now.
