WHAT IS THE BOOK OP

(Anonymous) 2014-03-23 08:03 pm (UTC)(link)
Your answer to the question posed in the subject line will allow us here at the FS Department of SJW Deportation Immigration to declare whether you are sufficiently-hinged to integrate with the FS community, or if you are un-hinged to the point where you would be a danger to yourself and others in the FS community.

Do I really need to add a "I am being snarktastic here" tag to this?

Based on the image, I'm going to guess the book is Lord of the Rings (or Tolkien's Middle Earth as a whole). It's kind of hilarious, because Tolkien goes crazy with physical descriptions of everything, and while there's definitely room for non-white Hobbits (there's a description of the Harfoots that leaves room to imagine them as very tanned white guys or as having a more equatorial colouration) and it wouldn't be far fetched to imagine that there're some non-white Gondorians or Rohirrim (immigration is a thing!), all the majoyr characters are described.
Want to envision a Samoan Eomer? Cool, go for it, but know it isn't canon.
Want to envision an Italian Aragorn? Cool, go for it, and take comfort in the knowledge that the crazies on the internet who call you racist for it are just that, crazies.

On the other hand, while I am veru fond of Sean Bean's portrayal, I would not be totally against an Italian Boromir. In the books Boromir was the Númenorian dark-haired with grey eyes type. I do not see why an Italian couldn't play that.

But then I also think such an Italian would be classed by USA-centric SJWs as being a white person.
