And hey, don't think you're safe just because your ship is the juggernaut in your fandom? Why, just the other day, I clicked on a story in which my OTP were trapped in a loveless marriage, but all that hinted at this was a summary saying "...but all was not well."

Yeesh. That would suck.

Though, to be fair, if your ship is a juggernaut, at least you've got a thousand other fics to chose from when one does something like this. :\

Oh totally. In that example I just rolled my eyes a bit and moved on to the next fic down the line, but I've been in situations in the past where my OTP was the rare pair getting shafted by a popular. This was even before tumblr and AO3 made "tagging" a real thing.
