This. Like, I don't really get how in RPGs some players make the character their IRL copy and then call it roleplaying. Ehh... no. I'm a female and 2/3 of my roleplaying characters are male. Because I do NOT want to be me. I'm me 24/7. Playing as a male makes roleplaying more fun for me since it's easier to not project myself to the character.

Of course, I'm not saying this "me"-centered gaming isn't right. Everyone plays like they want and that's cool. I just personally don't get it and I don't get how many people make gender such a huge number. If you can identify playing as an alien, robot, lizard, whatever... then why is it so hard to play as opposite gender? I roll my eyes when someone says that s/he just can't identify with a male/female while playing a freaking Argonian or Khajiit. Right... So you can identify being a talking lizard but playing as the opposite gender is something totally alien?
