Ohh.

Malaysian here. Top...40% I think. Household makes 50 000+ though I haven't asked the exact amount (bad manners to talk about income here). Family owns a few offices, houses and bits and pieces of land scattered here and there. We also own a number of family fruit orchards too.

used to be poor, family started a business, it went well? i counted said business into the net, it could be sold for lots and lots at this point

before that happened we were poor as heck, so i get really mad when people brush others off and assume they don't know what it's like. $20 wasted is still a big fat deal to me because i still have that mindset where everything counts and that $20 could be used on so many other things. i automatically compare it to $20 of food and necessities, and i still remember when having $60 on christmas was a blessing... and when friends who have been comfortably middle class all their lives say "it's only $20 isn't your family rich" i still want to rage. it's irrational but i can't help it. :(
