Tir and Gremio from the Suikoden games. I have determined that shipping them romantically squicks me terribly, having friends who write good fic who have written it. I normally enjoy their fic. I can't read their Tir/Gremio fic. But I will read and write fic about Tir and Gremio being platonic self-sacrificing lifemates FOREVAR.

And I will also happily read fics about any of my favored pairings as platonic friends as long as the dynamic from the canon is there and sounds right. It's the dynamic from the canon that makes me think "they're so good together, they should get together" anyway, so even if they're not a couple, I'm still getting what I most enjoy out of it.

I always have such a hard time shipping or friendshipping (?) video game characters. Their fandoms always seem so small. :(

Yeah, I think I am the same way about all my romantic pairings as well.
