Re: Let's talk pizza!

Favorite topping: Mushrooms. Sometimes combined with onions. But sometimes I like me some good old-fashioned cheese.

I've been spoiled growing up in the Philly/South Jersey area, where there's a lot of quality classic Italian food- especially pizza. I think our pizza is classic- thin crusts, some grease, some herbs, and some other qualities I can't put my finger on. I'm in school in Boston right now and I bemoan the fact that most of the pizza places near me (i.e., not in the North End, the Italian district) are Greek pizza, which is just not the same, sorry guys.

Personally, I would like to give a shout-out to:

2Amy's in Washington DC (off Wisconsin Ave, near National Cathedral)- this is closer to the real Neapolitan-style pizza (as in, what you find in Naples). Also, it's one of the few places in the US I've been that serves suppli, which is one of my favorite dishes from my time in Italy.

John's in NYC

And anywhere in Collingswood NJ (whatup!)
