You realize that your third point completely contradicts your entire thesis, right?

I don't see how it contradicts their thesis. They say A) the writing's bad, B) it plays with tired tropes, C) it doesn't deliver on a promising setting because in that it is boring. It's written in a ragey way but I don't think it contradicts their argument. You'd expect that a badly written show about tired tropes would be boring, even if the setting is promising.
