That book...

I really strongly doubt that 1 in every 25 people is a sociopath. That is an incredibly large portion of the population, and I'm not sure that we would have been able to form cohesive societies and civilizations were that many people lacking in empathy and conscience.

The Psychopath Test by Jon Ronson is a very good book that explores these sorts of stats and how people define terms like sociopath/psychopath etc. He comes to the conclusion that people talk a lot of crap about it all, basically. (It's a better book than that makes it sound!)
