Re: Beer!
(Anonymous) 2014-03-27 01:58 am (UTC)(link)The only thing I really strongly dislike are the IPAs that get super, super hoppy or bitter. Other than that it's mostly fair game. Big fan of brown ales, big fan of lagers, big fan of darker beers like stouts and porters, and generally just things with good mellow flavors. A lot of my favorite beers that I really like are from around where I live (Northern California) - Anchor Steam is kind of a local standard. Racer 5 is a really solid IPA that's on tap a lot of places around here. My favorite beer is Death and Taxes which is not available very widely at all - made by a small but really awesome brewery called Moonlight Brewing Company and it is just fantastic. For nonlocal stuff, Deschutes makes a lot of really good beers; their Black Butte Porter is extremely tasty. And then there's your Newcastles and your Guinnesses and all that.
My favorite cheap macrobrew is High Life. I can't really quantify why, just find it pretty tolerable.
