i don't understand. the show is 99% about sam and dean and their man-pain. what would it even be like without them? angels and demons fucking around with the apocalypse running in the background?

I took it to mean the plot and ideas and all would be fun if it were the same but focused on different characters. Or different actors.

I kind of agree. I can't really stand the two of them, but I really like the basic premise of the show.

Same here, like the idea and background stuff but in practice not so much.
A friend and I for shiggles made an AU where we chucked a few of our characters in a supernatural setting and it's quite fun actually (and also deals with diversity and not treating female characters like crap and other stuff of that nature quite well)

So it's what's going on in America during Good Omens?

I think my dream might be a return of Charlie and Dorothy. Let them hunt for a few seasons.

A Charlie and Dorothy spin-off would be lovely. Well, in my dream it's lovely and full of badass ladies having adventures but the real life execution would probably be disappointing. Still, a lovely thought.

They used to be exciting! But the by the fourth time one keeps a secret from the other until it is inevitably revealed and they fight for an episode, it get very boring.

And yeah, I'd totally watch a show that focused more on some of the other characters or some original characters (I think CW is making one?).

I have to say, I think it would be better. Sam and Dean have been doing the same exact shit for so long now that I just don't care about them and their fucking drama anymore.

And I'm very pleased to meet someone else that thinks JP has a punchable face. He might be a great guy, I don't know, but something about his forehead and his squinty eyes...

My sister says that when he yells, he reminds her of a bulldog for some reason. :| Honestly, I don't like much about JP. His face isn't that great, his body has that creepy too muscular look, and he has long hair. I am sure there are tons of people into any and all of those things, but blech from me.

This is exactly the reason I gave up on the show after half a season.

I get being annoyed by them or liking the atmosphere of the series more than the characters but I wouldn't, say, trade the main characters for Castiel or Bobby or maybe Jo.

I would trade both of them, no questions asked, for the Ellen/Jo hunting show (with guest appearances by Castiel, because the bit where they get into a drinking contest with him was my favorite part of possibly the show).

I kinda agree - premise is interesting but the 2 mains bore me and it'd be silly to watch something I'm bored by. Just the kind of characters I don't care about. :/

So not too heartbroken over it haha. Maybe if found them interesting and the story boring I'd be more annoyed.

I much prefer ensemble shows. Probably why seasons 4 and 5 are still the seasons of SPN hold up to repeated viewings for me.

I think Supernatural legit has the ugliest male cast in the history of TV. I don't know how anyone can find them attractive, especially Misha Collins. They're just so... Ugly.

For reference, then, who DO you consider attractive?

Watch the spin-off, then, unless those faces are also punchable. They just look like babies to me, much like Sam and Dean in the early seasons.
