i don't understand. the show is 99% about sam and dean and their man-pain. what would it even be like without them? angels and demons fucking around with the apocalypse running in the background?

I took it to mean the plot and ideas and all would be fun if it were the same but focused on different characters. Or different actors.

I kind of agree. I can't really stand the two of them, but I really like the basic premise of the show.

Same here, like the idea and background stuff but in practice not so much.
A friend and I for shiggles made an AU where we chucked a few of our characters in a supernatural setting and it's quite fun actually (and also deals with diversity and not treating female characters like crap and other stuff of that nature quite well)
