Simple:

Doc Ock tried to cure AIDS.

Spider-Man sold his unborn child to Satan and didn't tell his roommate when she was raped by a supervillain until it inconvenienced him.

Please tell me this is a fan-theory or fan-hysteria, because otherwise. Yeah, Petey is a dick.

Little bit of both:

1. Aunt May was shot and Mephisto (who is the Marvel equivalent of Satan) appeared and said "I'll save your aunt if you let me erase your marriage". Peter effectively guilt-tripped MJ into going along with it and Mephisto tells them that in doing so they gave up their future child.

2. Chameleon (who in the arc was depicted as a serial killer) replaced Peter Parker and had an encounter with his roommate (who didn't like Peter). He starts kissing her (which she likes) and the two end up on the floor off-camera. When Peter returns she's a clingy girlfriend and his reaction is "I'll kill you, Chameleon". He only tells her that it was Chameleon at a later date to get her off his back and the whole thing is used as a romantic comedy trope.

To be fair, everyone who knows about One Day More despises it and it's used as a byword for shitty comic book storylines.

The second one, though. Wtf.

(Anonymous) 2014-03-28 12:11 am (UTC)(link)
Oh and I forgot, when Peter returns, the roommate is wearing his t-shirt and boxers.

(Anonymous) 2014-03-28 12:02 am (UTC)(link)
Doc Ock is also... you know... a supervillain

(Anonymous) 2014-03-28 12:26 am (UTC)(link)
Not as Spider-Man he wasn't.

(Anonymous) 2014-03-28 02:21 am (UTC)(link)
ok yeah, fair enough then, my b. misinterpreted what you were saying

(Anonymous) 2014-03-28 09:13 am (UTC)(link)
Doc Ock has also tried to kill millions of people, on more than one occasion. Occasions on which he was usually stopped by Peter Parker.

I promise you I can cite more examples than you can.

I hold heroes to higher standards than villains. It's expected for Ock to be a mad scientist holding the world hostage. Spider-Man's not supposed to be a douchebag not letting his roommate know that a supervillain possibly sexually assaulted her.
