Re: Actors you irrationally hate

I find the hype around Jennifer Lawrence kind of obnoxious - not that she is necessarily a bad public figure, just the worship because she is so ~real~ and eats pizza. not to mention the absurd "she's not skinny" - she is slim, maybe she's bigger than a lot of actresses (?) and maintains a healthy weight, and maybe that's good for Hollywood, but she's not a hero for being a size, what, six?

That being said, I actually like her as Katniss, because she makes me like the character a lot more than I did in the book. The second movie, she just made Katniss a lot more real to me. I agree the casting call was a mess, and it would've been really interesting and wonderful to get a biracial girl. But at the same time, there's nothing wrong with a white actress because olive skin doesn't indicate race. I think she is amazing at the role, so different strokes I guess.
