This comment would make more sense if you weren't lumping Latin America as if it was homogeneous group of countries with the same discriminatory issues.

This. Argentinians are white.

Friend of mine was Cuban. Was definitely paler than me. Latin America is not a homogenous Borg-society.

This shit again? Not everybody in Argentina is white ffs.

No, just a mere 97% is...

Based on what? A faulty censo that was taken 10 years ago? That said 97% may be of European descent - which btw doesn't mean White European only? In a country that is known for trying to pretend is the whitest of latin america?

I fucking live here, I can assure you. 97% of Buenos Aires alone is not white or even white passing, much less Argentina as a whole.

ayrt

Except the point was that there are racial problems based on color throughout Latin America. I was referring to, I thought obviously, entire areas of the world to demonstrate that color-based racism is a problem worldwide.

It's not as simple as that, though.

Depending on which part of Latin American (including different parts in the same country) the races represented in the population can vary greatly and so do the issues.

You are, for example, talking about color-based racism, which imply the population with darker skin is the one discriminates the most.

In my country? The ones that are discriminated most isn't the black population, but the natives, which aren't an homogeneous group either, nor culture wise or skin color wise.

I'll stop here because this is not a discussion I want to have on FS (for several reasons) and I'm too tired to be coherent, but really, I do get what's the point you wanted to make, but there are times when generalizing is not a good idea.
