Re: Guilty pleasures - fandom edition

Hej, I was also currently on a little otome craze (happens to me about every three or four years... damn).

The following are examples with mostly stat raising mechanics and are all for the pc (although some have ios versions) , mostly english developed (because I tend to get bored of pure vn)

If you're looking for free games, there's things like RE: Alistair++ (
4 options, not too long but quite nice)

On the pay side there's publishers like Winter Wolves (also for ios, I think) with vn and dating sims, and sometimes smallish farming mechanics. I really liked "Remember me", it had random encounters and a nice count of cgs. "Nicole" is a mystery that I also quite enjoyed, even though the stat raising was very linear and the girl talked too damn much.

Super63 has one game that I really really liked, Lucky Rabbit Reflex.

Also then there's of course the widely known Hatoful Boyfriend (date pigeons), I have not yet finished it, but I heard good things about it.

Also if you generally like dating sim mechanics in your rpgs or simulations and own a console or are into emulating there's always harvest moon, and entries 3 + 4 in the Persona series (seriously, these two titles are damned good), the PSP version of Persona 3 adds a female Main Character option. That said, romance isn't the main point in these games.

Hoped that helped maybe a little bit. Have fun

Oh, and I totally forgot. On steam there's also "Magical Diary", which is a hilarious Harry Potter clone dating sim (and really doesn't take itself serious at all). You can play your very own Mary Sue and seduce (for example) the grumpy Prof, the mysteeerious demon, your roommates little brother and so on. There's also a kind of easy but fun little learning magic system that you can try out on a few little puzzles. (be aware though, the art is kind of reeeally mediocre, which may or may not add to its charm)

OP
Thanks so much for the reccs! "Magical Diary" seems like a lot of fun since I loved HP! I heard about Hatoful Boyfriend and thought of getting into it later.
