I just don't understand why no one told her anything? At all? Her parents, her sister? I mean, I get initially why they wouldn't have when she was younger because they were doing it for her safety and kids aren't exactly smart sometimes so yeah I could see them being worried that she'd coax Elsa into playing again and getting herself injured again. But...why not when she was older and had developed a better cognitive ability to understand? Like I mean why? Really? Then the coronation scene would never have happened because she'd understand why Elsa was so hesitant about people. I mean it makes it seem like Frozen's plot entirely hinged on Anna being left out in the dark. Did they not trust her or something? If so, that makes me really suspicious of the parents... Add onto the fact that they went and actually altered her memories (did she even find out about that at all? it didn't seem like it to me...) and the entire movie really creeped me out on how Anna's character was handled.

I'm assuming the worry that remembering would undo what was done to her memory, causing her to freeze. They altered her memories to KEEP HER ALIVE.

But hey. I guess it's better if she turn into a tiny, frozen statue.

Sorry I feel like I'm phrasing my question badly, my bad. :(

I'm not asking why they altered her memories. I know they did it to keep her alive, I guess it just bothered me since I have my own issues with blank spots in my memory. But I thought initially that were wasn't even a possibility that she'd "remember" the incident to retrigger the ice wound because they altered her memories? Remembering implies that they'd still be there but I got the impression that they were wiped for completely new ones and you can't remember what you don't have? At least that's how I took it.

I don't know about the original version, but in the French I definitely recall the Troll King to say that memories of the ice powers would be wiped out, "but the joy would remain". Basically Anna remembers all her games with Elsa, but rewritten without magic power scenes.

I assumed they were worried that finding out Elsa's secret would...I dunno, retrigger the memories or something? Reopen the wound?

See my above reply to the other anon, apparently I'm phrasing this badly sorry.

I was under the impression that Anna didn't have those memories at all, not even a hint of them anymore once they'd been altered so that they could completely remove the magic of the ice wound in her head. So I never figured there was even a chance of her remembering them? Like I mean, if they told her I still don't think Anna would even be able to recollect them on her own?
