I wouldn't worry about it too much, honestly. I was kind of worried about it when I got started, too, so I just recorded a few short fics that I wrote to get a feel for it. I knew the fics well enough that I did barely any editing (mostly just cutting out mistakes, though even that's not strictly necessary; it just makes it seem more like someone's actually there reading the story). I enjoyed it a lot, and apparently at least some people listened to them. And, of course, if you're not satisfied with whatever you record, you can always just not post it anywhere.
