Every gay chara in CLAMP, even those with a canon declaration of love, are denied to be gay.

Cause Tomoyo's not in love with Sakura, she's just 'confused'. Obviously Sakura isn't, despite being the same age as Tomoyo, just because her love interest is a boy, not another girl.

And Touya and Yukito aren't almost married in the manga, they're just BFF.

And a big etc, there're TONS of non-conventional couples in CLAMP. Everything that's not 'het pairing where both charas are hot and the same age' is denied and bashed by 'het fanbrats'.

Hell, just look at the HP fandom and how they reacted to Dumbledore being gay. And I don't mean the slash fans who rejoiced, I mean those who were saying they'd burn their copies of the books and who said Dumbledore wasn't JKR's to change, etc.

Well, you have lots and lots and LOTS of pairings. You can find gay, het, het/asexual, gay/asexual, het/robot, gay robots, older/younger, younger/older.. anything goes.

I've had people tell me Tomoyo was nothing but best friends with Sakura even when I not only quoted them the original manga where she SAYS right out that she loves her and not in the way Sakura loves her, but also the interview with the authors where they comment on how Tomoyo's love for Sakura is selfless, etc. Meaning, you couldn't get more canon, official, and plain CLEAR than that. And they still said I was sick for saying that bullshit about a clean, normal kids's show.

So yeah, they do.

why can't het fans do the same thing, only in reverse?

Of course they can. And they do. And I don't care. What I care is when they bitch at people for slashing stuff when OMG IT'S NOT CANON!11. Like the OP.

Believe me, it's canon. It's as canon as Sakura/Syaoran, and they're gonna end up married (canon too! the artbook comment to the cover of volume 12, the last one, is that they dressed Sakura up as a bride to show the happy future she'd have). I could dig up quotes and references and the manga pages in which she says 'I love you, Sakura' or that 'her happiness is to see the one she loves happy' and then say to Sakura 'my happiness is your happiness' a few chapters later.

which is why the het vs yaoi battle is so wtf to me. seriously. wtf. who cares. you're entitled to be pissed when someone makes a canonly gay character straight if you want, I guess... so why rag on someone who gets pissed when a canonly straight character is turned gay?

it's dumb either way, but still, what good will ranting back at them do? it's an argument as old as time (it might as well be, rather), and no one's opinion is going to change. I'm pretty sure of that.

A) I don't believe 'no one's opinion is going to change', sorry.

B) If you mean me posting to the OP? It was sarcasm. I was pointing out how silly it is to say it's bad when a slash fan does it, when it's actually annoying when ANY fan of any pairing does that.

I know, that's why I won't. I meant it really IS canon cause you said it didn't strike you as gay. Was just pointing out my example wasn't of a fanon-opinion.

... I think his name was Itsuki, actually. Or Mitsuki. The demon who was in love with Sensui. But that leads my brain straight into the "ITSUKI FOR KYON" quote so I don't wanna swear by that XDDDDDD

There was also a gay pairing in Sailor Moon, which the American translators got around neatly by remaking one of them as a "woman." God I forget their names though, I was never into that fandom.

Elendira the Crimsonnail was sorta gay for Legato in the Trigun manga, but I don't quite remember if he was actually a he or genderless/hermaphrodite, on second thought.

Leeron in Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann is gay as fuck.

We could probably get into hours of wank arguing if there was actually copious amounts of sexual tension between Officer Leon Orcot and Count D in Petshop of Horrors.

Hisoka from Hunter x Hunter admitted to and was commented as being sexually excited by Gon and Killua's power/"potential." And they're both little boys. I'm not sure this counts thought because since he also wants to wait until they're stronger and kill them, he might be a Special Case. But still, that's there.

Fujikake and Watanabe from Koko wa Greenwood are a canon couple--and that's actually NOT a BL series, despite what it sorta looks like.

On that note, Gravitation is by far NOT the only BL or yaoi manga out there, and it's far from the best--look at Fake, or Loveless, or Cafe Kichijouji, or Fire Candy, or... yeah. And I'm not sure if you're just looking at anime/manga here, but if you're including novels and comic books, I could include many many many more examples.

... I probably got the spelling SO WRONG I haven't read/watched Sailor Moon in ages. BUT YES THOSE they were two guys /o/ and totally gay.

Loveless isn't classified as a BL manga, it's a shounen ;D And has canon gay EVERYWHERE.

Fire Candy is BL? Nope. At least not to me. The only hint I saw of gay sex was with Haru and his prostitution and kissing Ryoki. The rest was regular shounen/seinen action stuff.

If we're going to add in kissing as signs of being gay, we should list Akito from Air Gear when he planted one on Ikki multiple times.

MORE CHIZURU LOVE IS NEEDED see, I adore her and Orihime, and her and Tatsuki, and Tatsuki and Orihime, and possibly a threesome. Er. But then, I love Ishida and Orihime because they're socute, and Ishida and Ichigo when it's not... done suckily, and Ichigo and Rukia, and for a random crackpairing Ryuuken and Isshin, because they're effing hilarious. XD;;;; I'd hate people to think I'm just a yaoi or yuri fanbrat for one of these pairings, even obvious non-canon ones, without knowing what other pairings I'm into. :/

I know! I love Chizzy so much. I RPed her but the game closed so I'm terribly sad. For me Bleach is a gigantic orgy! I love every pairing except for the kids because that's squicky for me.
